Subletting Laws in Michigan


It's up to your lease to determine if you have the right to sublet in Michigan. A guide issued by state government says that most leases allow a tenant to sublet as long as they get the landlord's approval. But if the original lease agreement is silent then the tenant does not need to seek the landlord’s permission.
