Description

Hello! We have a $1,650 master bedroom (with a private, attached bathroom) available for a start date of anywhere from July 24th to October 1st (earlier the better). Lease ends September 30, 2021. One of our roommates is moving home to Florida to work remotely. Three other mid-20s male roommates who are looking for a fourth guy to join. Doorman/elevator building in the Financial District. Read on for details. THE ROOM Move-in date can be flexible - technically anytime between July 24th to October 1st is okay, but we'd like to have someone moved in by September if possible. You would be on the lease through September 30, 2021. Master bedroom with a private, attached bathroom. One large window. Wall mounted air-conditioning/heating unit. Closet. APARTMENT Originally a two bed/two bath that was flexed into a four bed/two bath. The flex rooms have floor to ceiling walls with locking doors. We still have a spacious living area and separate kitchen. Stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and stone countertops. Tons of cabinet space. The bedrooms and common space have air-conditioning/heating units built into the wall (one of the flex rooms has a window A/C). The whole common area is fully furnished as pictured. We have a projector as well. We split costs for electricity and a 150 Mbps Internet connection. Electricity is ~$50/person/month and Internet is ~$10/person/month. BUILDING 24/7 doormen and a package/dry cleaning valet open 6 days a week. The building staff are friendly and maintenance issues are usually resolved on the same day. There's a small roof deck with lounge chairs open in the warm weather. Two laundry rooms in the building. Trash rooms on every floor. Elevator wait times are usually super minimal. Note: The front entrance and roof deck are currently closed for renovations. The building website is 100john.com ROOMMATES The remaining three roommates are all mid-20's guys who get along quite well. Everyone is respectful of each other's space and the common space as a whole. One of us is an electrical engineer in construction and the other two work in customer success type roles at tech startups. We enjoy a lot of different board games and will sometimes play a game, watch a show, or attempt an uncooperative round of Overcooked on nights and weekends. Roommate dinners or outings are not uncommon. There's a round robin cleaning schedule every two weeks for the common parts of the apartment; everyone picks up after themselves during off-weeks. Noise has really never been an issue - we sometimes hang-out in the living room but you can also just do your own thing in your bedroom if you'd prefer. It’s pretty quiet in the apartment after 10pm or so most weeknights. FINANCIAL DISTRICT There's two grocery stores within a few minute walk. South Street Seaport is right down John St. (awesome views of the East River with a bike/running path) and Battery Park is a little over half a mile south. Transit options are incredible. An entrance to the Fulton St./Cortlandt St./World Trade Center (all connected underground) stations is a few minutes away. This gives you access to the 1/2/3/4/5/A/C/E/J/Z/R/W trains. M15(SBS), M103, and M55 busses all stop nearby. PATH trains to NJ are in the WTC. The Wall Street, Governors Island, and Staten Island Ferry terminals are all walkable (especially Wall St.). You can take a non-stop ferry from Wall St. to Rockaway for $2.75. There's also three CitiBike docks within a two minute walk. Plenty of bikes in the morning and plenty of docks in the evening. YOU You’re sociable enough to enjoy getting to know new people but you don’t throw weekly pre-games. You prefer a generally clean space and don’t mind chipping into clean once every couple months. The current roommates would love to have another responsible, respectful, and generally enjoyable person to hang out with. Everyone has become friendly with each other and hope that you'll fit right in.
