Covid-19 update: To maintain the health and safety of our users we are currently only supporting viewings in empty units. If you have not moved out yet, you'll just need to leave during viewing windows.
Contactless viewings make it possible for renters to tour an available unit on their own. You won't need to coordinate schedules with renters or be there to show them around. Only prequalified renters are able to get access, and only renters who meet all your building's tenant requirements are able to book the unit once they've seen it.
Here are the steps for getting started with contactless viewings.
1. You'll get a smart keybox in the mail
We'll provide you with a keybox that creates one-time-use pin codes without needing to be connected to the internet. The keybox is an important part of our system for keeping contactless viewings safe: it's the only way to make sure that viewers are only able to get access during their one-hour time period.
Once you've ordered your keybox it should take 1-2 days to arrive if you're on the east coast of the U.S. and 3-4 days if you're on the west coast.
2. Put your spare keys inside and hang the box from the door
When your package arrives click the button that says setup your keybox in your dashboard. You will be guided through the steps required to open it up, place your key inside and hang it from the door.
Take a couple photos so that people know what to look for and add notes that you want them to see. These can be notes about how to find the door or "must see" features of the unit.
3. Open up viewing slots
Now choose the days and times when you want viewers to be able to take a tour. They'll only be able to view the space during these time windows.
Viewers expect to be touring the unit alone, so we recommend you select times when you know that no one will be there.
Once you've done these three steps you'll be completely setup. When viewers have questions or issues they reach out to Flip support. You'll get notifications about viewings so you know how much activity you're getting and the viewing will delist as soon as the first qualified applicant books.
Returning the keybox
The keybox stays on your door until your new tenant moves in. They will send it back to Flip once they're settled.
If you cancel your plan before a renter moves in, return the keybox to Flip using the free return label to avoid a $150 lost keybox fee.
