Protections for Apartment Viewings

All of the apartments that are managed directly by Caretaker offer self service viewings. If we're managing your apartment and you're still living there, then you're probably wondering how this works.

Viewers are carefully vetted

Viewers have to go through a careful verification process before scheduling a viewing. We scan their government-issued ID and confirm that it's genuine and confirm that they are who they say they are using biometric analysis. We also keep a payment method on file during viewings to deter thefts.

Apartments are protected

Caretaker offers listers with a protection policy against damages or theft that occur during a viewing. As long as you follow our terms and conditions and disclose the valuable items in your apartment before the viewing starts then you will be covered for up to $10,000 in claims.

Advance notice

Don't worry - we'll make sure you're not caught off guard. You can block off certain times that are never okay for someone to view you apartment, for example if you work at an office all day then you block off mornings and evenings so that viewings can only be scheduled while you're at work. You can be in the apartment when a viewing happens or not in the apartment - it's up to you.

Pets

We'll ask you to let us know if you have any animals that could be dangerous for someone else to be around without supervision. As a rule, if you have a dog that's over twenty pounds and one of the bully breeds we ask that you block off all times when your dog will be home alone and take him or her to daycare as necessary.

We will also send you notification emails so you know when viewings are scheduled.
